For those that like the great wide open of America’s southwest, and the amazing red rock scenery that has been sculpted over millions of years, there’s the Grand Circle. This area of the southwest includes some of the best National Parks in the United States. Some of them, you might be familiar with, like Arches National Park and the Grand Canyon. Others, like Goblin Valley and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, are less visited marvels of nature. Mesa Verde, located in Colorado near the Four Corners region, contains petroglyphs and long abandoned cliff dwellings of the Native American Puebloans that once inhabited this region. Cliff Palace, the major structure that is partially intact on this location, provides a window into the past of the Four Corners region and the Native American people.
